A pilot project program activity to help prevent obesity in children is being considered for development. It would be a three workshop series held once a month targeted to the two age groups of 7 through 10 and 11 through teen. Sessions would vary from 60 to 90 minutes. Session 1 would focus on the basics of healthy nutrition, how to read labels at the grocery store, and include an exercise activity Session 2 would include the basics of meal planning, budgeting (for the older group), and making a healthy snack. An exercise activity would be included. Session 3 would focus on actually preparing a meal that the Little could replicate at home, using a donated kitchen site. Bigs would be involved all along the way. It would not begin until the Fall. Would you be interested in participating in this activity if provided?
