Fresno County

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California started first in Fresno County back in 1968.  More of the traditional community-based matches are in the city of Fresno than any other area we serve.  We are presently concentrating on increasing our reach in more rural areas.

The program is expanding into East Fresno County through working with the East Fresno County Communities of Caring Task Force, reaching into Sanger, Fowler, Reedley, Del Rey, Parlier, and Orange Cove.  The basis of our work in this area is through membership in the faith-based coalition of Sanger’s Community of Caring group.

In West Fresno County, we are expanding into Kerman, working with the City of Kerman and the Kerman Unified School District.

To help build visibility of mentoring in the area, Big Brothers Big Sisters is partnering with the Fresno Unified School District to form a Mentoring Coalition.  If you are interested in joining the coalition, contact Executive Director Brooke Frost.
